Recap: Cal State Fullerton vs. Santa Clara

Fullerton, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Alex Harris paced four teammates in double figures with 19 points as the Cal State Fullerton Titans downed the Santa Clara Broncos, 86-73, at Titan Gym.

Harris shot 8-of-14 from field, including 3-of-6 from 3-point range for Fullerton (2-1). Michael Williams tallied 15 points, six rebounds and five assists, while Josh Gentry and Marquis Horne netted 13 points apiece.

Brandon Clark led all scorers with 23 points for Santa Clara (2-1), while Jared Brownridge was right on his heels with 21 points. Denzel Johnson came off the bench to score 12 points for the visitors.

Although Fullerton outshot Santa Clara from the field in the first half, 52.9 percent to 29.4 percent, it carried just a six-point lead into intermission, 40-34. The Broncos kept the game close by shooting 5-of-11 from 3-point range in the opening 20 minutes.

The Titans opened the second half on a 6-0 run and led by double figures for the rest of the game.

Fullerton helped overcome 16 turnovers by winning the rebounding battle, 41-35.
