Recap: Pepperdine vs. Cal State Fullerton

Malibu, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Marquis Horne scored 21 points and pulled down seven rebounds as he helped guide the Cal State Fullerton Titans to a 78-64 win over the Pepperdine Waves in non-conference action at Firestone Fieldhouse.

Steve McClellan contributed 13 points and seven rebounds for the Titans (3-6), followed by Michael Williams with 12 points, six assists and five boards as the team snapped a five-game slide.

The Waves (5-4), losers of two straight and three of the last four, were paced by Brendan Lane who scored a game-high 24 points on 10-of-17 shooting from the field. Jeremy Majors pitched in with 10 points and four assists in the setback.

Pepperdine shot just 2-of-10 beyond the arc in the first half, yet that was still good enough to keep the squad in front at the break, 37-32. Fullerton missed all five chances beyond the arc in the period.

Battling back in the second half, the Titans converted 56.7 percent from the floor and a perfect 9-of-9 at the free-throw line in order to capture the double-digit win.

In addition to holding a 42-29 advantage on the glass, Fullerton also took great care of the ball with just eight turnovers.
