Recap: CS-Northridge vs. Cal State Fullerton

Northridge, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Stephan Hicks tallied a double-double with 27 points and 13 rebounds as the Cal State Northridge Matadors outlasted the Cal State Fullerton Titans, 92-83, in an overtime Big West Conference bout at the Matadome.

Hicks added four steals and went 13-of-16 from the free-throw line in the win. Stephen Maxwell narrowly missed out on a double-double for Northridge (12-13, 4-6 Big West), netting 22 points with nine rebounds. Josh Greene contributed 19 points and five boards. The Matadors snapped a two-game losing streak with the win.

Alex Harris scored a team-high 27 points and hit 7-of-11 from 3-point range for Fullerton (7-15, 2-6). Michael Williams scored 20 points, and Steve McClellan notched a double-double with 18 points and 15 rebounds. The Titans have lost three in a row.

Fullerton connected on 47.8 percent of its shot attempts from the floor in the first half and took a 32-30 lead into the intermission. Northridge hit 39.3 percent of its shots in the frame.

The Matadors stayed consistent in the second period, hitting 39.3 percent from the field again. The Titans' shooting fell to 36 percent from the floor in the half.

With four seconds left, Greene connected on a 3-pointer to knot the game at 68-68, sending it to overtime. The Matadors prevailed in the extra period, 24-15, for the win.

Cal State Northridge had the edge in rebounding, 45-35, and forced 20 Fullerton turnovers. The Matadors won the battle in points in the paint, 40-22.
