Recap: Cal State Fullerton vs. CS-Northridge

Fullerton, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Michael Williams scored 23 points to lead the Cal State Fullerton Titans to an 82-81 victory over the Cal State Northridge Matadors in a Big West Conference collision at Titan Gym.

Marquis Horne and Alex Harris each added 16 points for Cal State Fullerton (10-17, 5-8 Big West).

Stephen Maxwell had game-highs of 25 points and 12 rebounds for Cal State Northridge (14-16, 6-8). Josh Greene added 13 points, Tre Hale-Edmerson totaled 11 points and 10 rebounds and Landon Drew finished with 10 points.

Williams scored 15 points in the first half, during which the Titans shot 55.2 percent from the floor to enter the locker room, leading 46-37. The Matadors shot at a 46.4 percent clip in the first period.

Maxwell heated up and scored 17 points as Cal State Northridge rallied in the second half. Trailing, 78-70, with 2:33 to play, the Matadors ripped off an 11-4 run over the next two minutes to pull within a point. However, Josh Greene missed a shot as time expired that would have completed the comeback.

Cal State Fullerton shot 52.8 percent from the floor in the game as a whole, with Cal State Northridge just behind at 51.9 percent.
