Recap: CS-Northridge vs. UC Santa Barbara

Northridge, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Alan Williams scored 16 points to lead five players in double figures for the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos, who took down the Cal State Northridge Matadors 79-69 in a Big West conference clash at the Matadome.

Michael Bryson added 15 points for UC Santa Barbara (11-5, 2-1 Big West), which has won five of its last six. Kyle Boswell tacked on 14 points, Taran Brown contributed 12 and Sam Beeler chipped in 10.

Josh Greene scored a game-high 27 points in the losing effort for Cal State Northridge (10-9, 2-2), which has lost back-to-back games. Stephen Maxwell (18 points, 10 rebounds) and Stephan Hicks (10 points, 10 rebounds) each posted double-doubles.

Both teams struggled in the first half with UC Santa Barbara shooting just 38.5 percent from the floor and Cal State Northridge at 34.8 percent. The Gauchos led 34-28 at the break.

Williams scored 12 points as the Gauchos shot 64.3 percent from the field in the second half to pull away for the victory.

UC Santa Barbara had a 21-12 scoring advantage from beyond the arc and a 42-26 edge on points in the paint.
