Recap: Long Beach State vs. UC Davis

Long Beach, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Travis Hammonds scored 20 points as the Long Beach State 49ers won in a blowout against the UC Davis Aggies, 99-74, in a Big West Conference contest at Walter Pyramid.

Mike Caffey tallied 17 points and seven assists for LBSU (5-11, 1-1 Big West). Tyler Lamb added 16 points while David Samuels logged a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Ryan Sypkens paced the Aggies (5-12, 0-2) with 21 points. Corey Hawkins poured in 19 points while Darius Graham added five assists.

UC Davis shot well in the first half, making 53.6 percent of its field goal attempts, including 8-of-15 from beyond the arc, as it held a 44-40 lead at the half. The 49ers shot 56.7 percent from the floor, including 4-of-11 from 3-point range.

LBSU took control of the game after halftime by ripping off 30 unanswered points to start the second stanza and never looked back from there.

The 49ers dominated on the glass, holding a 41-26 rebounding advantage for the game.
