Recap: UC Davis vs. Long Beach State

Davis, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - A.J. Spencer netted 14 points and grabbed five rebounds as the Long Beach State 49ers cruised past the UC Davis Aggies, 79-57, in a Big West Conference tilt at The Pavilion.

Mike Caffey scored 13 points and dished out a team-high six assists for Long Beach State (12-14, 8-4 Big West). Dan Jennings added 11 points and eight rebounds, and Tyler Lamb also chipped in 11 in the win. The 49ers have won three of their past four games.

Corey Hawkins was the only player to net a double-digit point total in the game for UC Davis (8-18, 3-8), scoring 19 on 7-of-9 shooting from the floor. The Aggies have lost three straight games, and four of their last five.

Long Beach State was hot in the first half, hitting 60 percent of its field goal tries, including 4-of-7 from 3-point range. The 49ers took a 35-25 lead into the intermission after UC Davis connected on just 35.7 percent of its shot attempts in the frame.

The 49ers didn't cool down much in the second half, netting 51.6 percent of their shots, hitting 6-of-11 from deep. The Aggies improved to only 38.5 percent from the field, including 1-of-11 from beyond the arc.

Long Beach State had the advantage in rebounding, 39-20, and outscored UC Davis from 3-point range, 30-9. The Aggies doubled up the 49ers from the free- throw line, 14-7.
