Recap: UC Davis vs. SIU Edwardsville

Portland, OR (SportsNetwork.com) - Josh Ritchart recorded a monster double- double with 35 points and 13 rebounds as the UC Davis Aggies defeated the SIU Edwardsville Cougars, 80-75, in a Portland State Tournament bout at the Stott Center.

Ritchart shot an efficient 12-of-14 from the floor and made good on 3-of-3 shots from beyond the arc for UC Davis (2-2). Ritchart also tallied two steals and two blocks on the defensive end while Corey Hawkins added 11 points and four rebounds.

The Cougars (1-3) were led by Rozell Nunn, who managed 17 points and eight rebounds while shooting 7-of-11 from the field and 3-of-4 from long range. Michael Messer and Kris Davis added 11 points each in the loss.

SIUE led, 38-36, at the break after shooting just under 58 percent from the field in the first half.

In the second half, the Cougars shot just 41.9 percent from the floor while allowing UC Davis to shoot over 57 percent. The Aggies outscored SIUE, 44-37, over the final 20 minutes as they to pull off

The Aggies outscored the Cougars, 34-26, in the paint and scored 23 points off SIUE's 16 turnovers.
