Recap: TX A&M-CC vs. TX-Pan American

Corpus Christi, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Zane Knowles produced a double-double consisting of 13 points and a game-high 12 rebounds, as the Islanders of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi posted a 72-61 win over the Texas-Pan American Broncs as part of the Islander Basketball Tournament.

Hameed Ali delivered 17 points for the Islanders (3-2), followed by Jeff Beverly and Cole Martinez with 12 and 11 points, respectively, as the team picked up a second win in the last three outings.

The Broncs (2-4) were paced by Javorn Farrell with his game-high 19 points on 7-of-15 shooting from the floor, while Shaquille Hines pitched in with 13 points and seven boards.

UTPA led by three points early in the first half, but the team shot only 33.3 percent from the floor in the period, resulting in a 34-25 deficit at the break.

In the second half the lead for the Islanders extended to 24 points at the 11:42 mark of the period, and even with the Broncs chipping away, the hosts still came up with the double-digit victory.
