Recap: UC Davis vs. Sacramento St

Davis, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Mikh McKinney scored a game-high 25 points as the Sacramento State Hornets captured a 73-67 win over the UC Davis Aggies in non-conference play at The Pavilion.

Jordan Salley and Cody Demps both posted 11 points and Dylan Garrity and Zach Mills 10 points apiece for the Hornets (2-2) in the victory.

The Aggies (3-4) were paced by Josh Ritchart who tallied 20 points on 8-of-11 shooting from the field. Corey Hawkins generated 16 points, six rebounds and four assists, while Ryan Sypkens logged 10 points before fouling out.

Both teams shot better than 50 percent from the field in the first half and in addition to knocking down 59.1 percent from the floor, the Aggies also made good on 4-of-7 beyond the arc in order to take a 31-30 advantage at the break.

In the second half UC Davis converted 52.2 percent from the field, but the team watched the Hornets knock down a near-perfect 20-of-22 at the free-throw line.

In a game that featured five ties and six lead changes, Sacramento State outscored the hosts at the charity stripe, 20-11.
