Recap: UC Santa Barbara vs. UC Davis

Santa Barbara, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Alan Williams scored 27 points and hauled in a career-high 20 rebounds, as the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos made easy work of the UC Davis Aggies, 82-67, in a Big West Conference showdown at The Thunderdome.

Williams shot 11-of-16 from the field and also blocked a pair of shots for UCSB (14-6, 5-2 Big West), which has won five of its last six. Kyle Boswell poured in 15 points off the bench, while Michael Bryson added 11.

For UCD (7-15, 2-5), Ryan Sypkens netted 22 points in a reserve role, and Corey Hawkins tallied 15 points, six assists and five rebounds.

UCSB controlled the game from the start, outshooting UCD from the field in the first half, 46.4 percent to 32.1 percent, en route to a 36-22 halftime lead.

The Aggies' field goal efficiency improved to 51.9 percent in the second stanza, but they couldn't keep pace with the Gauchos, who drained 61.5 percent of their shots from the floor as they cruised to victory.

UCSB earned a 41-27 advantage in the rebounding battle and outscored UCD in the paint, 24-18.
