Recap: UC Irvine vs. Boston Univ

Irvine, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - D.J. Irving poured in a game-high 18 points to help the Boston University Terriers run past the host squad UC Irvine Anteaters, 74-68, in the 2K Sports Classic at the Bren Events Center.

Dom Morris tallied 17 points and eight rebounds for BU (3-2), while Malik Thomas came off the bench to register 12 points and four assists.

For UCI (3-3), Will Davis II logged 12 points, eight rebounds and a block, while Mamadou Ndiaye and Chris McNealy netted 11 and 10 points, respectively. Alex Young scored just seven points but he helped out with seven assists.

BU shot a lofty 50 percent from the field in the first half, while UCI struggled at just 39.1 percent, as the Terriers claimed a 33-25 advantage heading into the halftime locker room.

The Anteaters rallied back to take a 42-40 lead on a Luke Nelson jumper with 13:06 left, but the Terriers answered by ripping off a 17-2 run to put the game away.

BU held on to win despite losing out on points in the paint, 38-20.
