Recap: UC Irvine vs. Eastern Wash

Irvine, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Luke Nelson scored 19 points as the UC Irvine Anteaters rode a stellar game from beyond the arc to post an 81-58 rout of the Eastern Washington Eagles in the final day of the 2K Sports Classic at Bren Events Center.

Nelson knocked down five of UC Irvine's (4-3) 11 3-pointers while Alex Young had four triples and tallied 16 points. Will Davis II added 10 points and eight rebounds.

Tyler Harvey scored 21 points and came up with nine rebounds to pace Eastern Washington (4-2). Drew Brandon added 10 rebounds but scored only nine points on 4-of-10 shooting.

Nelson scored 12 points in the first half and the Anteaters had more than twice as many field goals as the Eagles (15-7) to take a 43-22 lead at halftime.

The second half was a bit more even with each team shooting below 40 percent from the field, but another six 3-pointers ensured UC Irvine of the victory.

UC Irvine assisted on 17 of its 27 field goals. Eastern Washington had only six assists and 11 turnovers.
