Recap: UC Irvine vs. Pepperdine

Irvine, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Stacy Davis registered a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds as the Pepperdine Waves captured a 75-69 win over the UC Irvine Anteaters in a non-conference showdown at the Bren Events Center.

Also scoring 18 points for the Waves (6-4) was Jeremy Major, while Malcolm Brooks pitched in with 16 points as the team snapped a two-game slide.

The Anteaters (5-5), losers of two in a row, were paced by Chris McNealy with 16 points, followed by Luke Nelson and Alex Young with 12 apiece, the latter also handing out eight assists. Mamadou Ndiaye contributed 10 points and Will Davis nine points, eight boards and four blocked shots.

UCI knocked down an impressive 57.7 percent from the field on the night, including 5-of-8 behind the 3-point line, in order to grab a 40-30 lead at the break.

Unfortunately for the Anteaters, they made a total of just nine field goals over the final 20 minutes of action, en route to the six-point setback.

Pepperdine, which shot 45.6 percent from the floor on the night, turned the ball over just eight times.
