Recap: UC Santa Barbara vs. South Dakota St

Santa Barbara, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Alan Williams nearly finished with a triple-double as the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos trampled the South Dakota State Jackrabbits, 83-64, in non-conference action at the Thunderdome.

Williams scored 39 points and also had nine rebounds and eight blocks for UCSB (3-2). Zalmico Harmon added 14 points, Michael Bryson chipped in 12 and Taran Brown pitched in 10 off the bench.

Chad White and Cody Larson each scored 15 points to lead South Dakota State (3-5). Jordan Dykstra added 14 points and seven rebounds.

UCSB only led, 32-30, at halftime after shooting at a 43.8 percent clip during the first 20 minutes.

Williams scored 26 points in the final 20 minutes while the Gauchos hit on 69.2 percent of their field goal attempts to run away with the decision.

South Dakota State connected on just 43.1 percent of its field goal tries but did outscore UCSB, 24-18, from beyond the arc.
