Recap: Middle Tennessee vs. East Carolina

Murfreesboro, TN (SportsNetwork.com) - Shawn Jones finished with 22 points, 11 rebounds and five blocks as the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders completed an 84-67 victory over the East Carolina Pirates in a Conference USA clash at the Murphy Center.

Tweety Knight added 14 points and Kerry Hammonds tallied 13 points and six assists for Middle Tennessee (14-7, 4-2 C-USA), which has won three of its last four.

Caleb White dropped in 18 points to pace East Carolina (11-10, 0-6), which has lost its last six. Paris Campbell tacked on 13 points, Akeem Richmond and Prince Williams tallied 12 and Michael Zangari chipped in 10.

The Blue Raiders entered halftime, leading 41-22 after shooting 50 percent from the floor, while limiting the Pirates to 30.8 percent in the first frame.

East Carolina improved to 50 percent shooting in the second half, but Middle Tennessee also shot better, netting 56 percent over the final 20 minutes.

Middle Tennessee owned the interior, with advantages in rebounds (39-3) and in points in the paint (46-30).
