Recap: FIU vs. Tulane

Miami, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Rakeem Buckles scored 20 points and brought down 13 rebounds to lead the FIU Panthers to a 73-47 rout of the Tulane Green Wave in Conference USA action at FIU Arena.

Tymell Murphy added 19 points and Jerome Frink tallied 14 for FIU (13-17, 5-10 C-USA), which ended a four-game losing streak.

Louis Dabney paced Tulane (16-14, 8-7) with 13 points. Tre Drye chipped in 12 points and Jonathan Stark had 11.

FIU dominated from the opening tip, shooting 57.7 percent from the floor, including 6-of-10 from 3-point range, in the first half. The Panthers led, 38-28, at the break.

In the second half Tulane, which had only 11 field goals in the first 20 minutes, added just six more, while the Panthers shot at a 42.9 percent clip to coast to the victory.

FIU knocked down 9-of-18 shots from beyond the arc and nearly had as many assists (16) as Tulane had total field goals (17).
