Recap: Troy vs. Arkansas State

Troy, AL (SportsNetwork.com) - Rakeem Dickerson finished with 19 points and six assists as the Arkansas State Red Wolves defeated the Troy Trojans, 83-73, in a Sun Belt conference matchup at Trojan Arena.

Ed Townsel added 19 points while Cameron Golden scored 18 for the Red Wolves (12-8, 5-4 Sun Belt), who have won two of their last three. Melvin Johnson III had 10 points and eight boards.

Kevin Thomas and Tevin Calhoun each tallied 16 points apiece for the Trojans (7-14, 2-7), who extended their losing streak to five games. Antoine Myers registered a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds, and Jeff Mullahey netted 10 points.

Arkansas State shot 43.3 percent from the floor and went 12-of-14 from the free-throw line in the first half as they led 44-36 at the intermission. Troy connected on 50 percent of its field goal attempts.

The Red Wolves made 44 percent of their shots from the field in the second frame, including 5-of-10 from 3-point range. The Trojans converted 43.3 percent of their field goal tries, but made just 3-of-14 from behind the 3- point line.

Arkansas State capitalized on the Trojans' miscues as they outscored Troy 21-10 on points off turnovers. The Red Wolves also doubled up the Trojans at the free-throw line, 24-12.
