Recap: Western Ky vs. Georgia State

Bowling Green, KY (SportsNetwork.com) - Manny Atkins scored 18 points and Curtis Washington had a double-double in the Georgia State Panthers' 77-54 rout of the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers during a Sun Belt Conference showdown at E.A. Diddle Arena.

Washington finished with 16 points and 10 rebounds for Georgia State (10-6, 3-0 Sun Belt), which has won seven straight. Devonta White added 13 points, R.J. Hunter tallied 12 and Ryan Harrow chipped in 11.

T.J. Price scored 15 points as the only player in double figures for Western Kentucky (10-6, 2-1). George Fant grabbed 13 rebounds but had just two points on 1-of-6 shooting.

Georgia State led by a score of 34-29 at halftime. The Panthers shot 41.7 percent from the floor in the first half, which was a bit better than Western Kentucky's 37.9 percent effort.

After the break the Panthers improved to 53.3 percent shooting, while holding the Hilltoppers to just seven field goals, though six did come from beyond the arc.

Georgia State had a commanding, 36-10 advantage on points in the paint and an 18-8 edge in points off turnovers. Western Kentucky lost despite winning the battle on the boards (43-35).
