Recap: Texas-Arlington vs. Georgia State

Arlington, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Manny Atkins finished with 27 points and seven rebounds as the Georgia State Panthers dispatched the Texas-Arlington Mavericks, 77-49, in Sun Belt Conference action at the College Park Center.

Ryan Harrow added 15 points for GSU (21-7, 14-1 SBC), which also received 11 points, five assists and five rebounds courtesy of Devonta White. Markus Crider provided a spark off the bench with 12 points and eight boards as the Panthers clinched at least a share of the regular season conference title.

Roger Dowell led the Mavericks (12-15, 7-8) with 18 points on 8-of-20 shooting from the floor. Lonnie McClanahan recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds, while Brandon Edwards also netted 12 points.

The Panthers went into the intermission trailing, 34-29, after they attempted seven less field goals and connected on just 2-of-9 tries from 3-point range in the opening stanza. UTA made 41.7 percent of its shots from the floor in the first half.

The Mavericks cooled off to make only 25 percent of their field goal attempts after halftime. GSU pulled away as it drained 59.3 percent of its shots from the field and converted all 10 of its tries at the charity stripe in the second period.

The Panthers outscored UTA, 24-6, from beyond the arc and enjoyed a 35-32 advantage in total rebounds.
