Recap: Louisiana vs. Oakland

Conway, SC (SportsNetwork.com) - Shawn Long recorded a double-double with 24 points and 17 rebounds for the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns as they knocked off the Oakland Golden Grizzlies, 84-75, as part of the mainland play of the Maui Invitational at the HTC Center.

Elfrid Payton notched a career-high 32 points for the Ragin' Cajuns (3-2) on 8-of-15 shooting from the field and also grabbed seven rebounds. Steven Wronkoski added 11 points.

Corey Petros logged a double-double for the Golden Grizzlies (0-5) with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Travis Bader (19 points), Kahlil Felder (14) and Mitch Baenziger (13) all scored in double figures for Oakland, while Felder also added seven assists.

Oakland shot 43.8 percent from the floor in the first half to Louisiana's 45.8 percent, but the Golden Grizzlies sank 6-of-14 shots from 3-point range, and got out to a 44-39 lead at halftime.

The Grizzlies shot an identical percentage from the field in the second half, but that only included 2-of-9 from long distance. The Cajuns shot an improved 48.3 percent from the field, including 6-of-12 from the perimeter. Late in the contest Louisiana pulled away, leading by as many as 12 points.

The Ragin' Cajuns dominated the boards, pulling in 42 rebounds to the Golden Grizzlies' 33. They also outscored Oakland at the foul line, 25-11.
