Recap: Louisiana vs. ULM

Lafayette, LA (SportsNetwork.com) - Elfrid Payton scored 28 points on 13-of-14 shooting from the field, as the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns won in a 66-50 rout over the ULM Warhawks in a Sun Belt Conference contest at the Cajundome.

Bryant Mbamalu finished with 14 points and Shawn Long tallied a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds with four blocks for the Ragin' Cajuns (13-9, 4-5 Sun Belt), who snapped a three-game losing skid.

Tylor Ongwae netted a double-double with 16 points and 11 boards for the Warhawks (7-10, 4-5), who have lost three of their last four.

Louisiana made 40.7 percent of its field goal attempts in the first stanza as they led 24-21 at the break. ULM shot just 34.6 percent from the floor.

The Ragin' Cajuns came out of the intermission on fire as they drained 61.5 percent of their field goal tries in the second frame. The home team finished the game on a 14-6 run to seal the win.

Louisiana dominated inside as it outscored the Warhawks 50-20 in the paint.
