The second half saw the Blue Raiders connect on an impressive 59.3 percent from the floor, but the visitors were even better at 63.6 percent. Down by four with under two minutes left in regulation, UAB knotted the score at 77-77 thanks to a layup by Washington and two clutch free throws from Williams.

Thanks to a layup and a free throw in the final minute of overtime by Upshaw, the hosts managed to come away with the hard-fought victory.

In a game that featured eight ties and seven lead changes, the Blazers cost themselves a shot at the victory by turning the ball over a staggering 22 times.
