Recap: Middle Tennessee vs. Old Dominion

Murfreesboro, TN (SportsNetwork.com) - Shawn Jones tallied 20 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders to a 64-48 victory over the Old Dominion Monarchs in a Conference USA showdown at the Murphy Center.

Jones shot 9-of-11 from the field for Middle Tennessee (15-7, 5-2 C-USA), which has won three in a row. Kerry Hammonds added 14 points for the hosts.

For ODU (10-12, 4-2), Dimitri Batten had 14 points, Aaron Bacote scored 13 and Richard Ross poured in 11.

Middle Tennessee shot 43.5 percent from the field and 9-of-11 at the foul line in the first half, and it carried a 29-24 lead into intermission. ODU made just 33.3 percent of its tries from the floor in the opening 20 minutes.

The Blue Raiders' field goal efficiency jump up to 60 percent in the second half as they cruised to the 16-point victory.

The Monarchs committed 15 turnovers, leading to 18 points for the Blue Raiders.
