Recap: Western Ky vs. South Alabama

Bowling Green, KY (SportsNetwork.com) - Mychal Ammons notched a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds for the South Alabama Jaguars as they bested the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers, 69-62, in Sun Belt Conference action at E.A. Diddle Arena.

Augustine Rubit logged another double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds for the Jaguars (8-17, 2-10 Sun Belt), who snapped a six-game losing streak. Aakim Saintil and Antoine Allen contributed 12 and 10 points, respectively.

George Fant recorded a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds for the Hilltoppers (17-9, 9-4), who have lost two of their last three. T.J. Price and Brandon Harris netted 15 and 12 points, respectively.

The Hilltoppers had a miserable first half, in which they were able to knock down just 4-of-28 from the field. At the other end, the Jaguars' 29 percent took them out to a 26-14 lead at halftime.

The Jaguars shot 51.7 percent from the floor in the second half to the Hilltoppers' 46.2 percent, as they held on for the victory.

Led by Ammons and Rubit, South Alabama outrebounded the hosts 50-42.
