Recap: Texas-Arlington vs. Texas State

Arlington, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Brandon Edwards notched a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds as the Texas-Arlington Mavericks came back to beat the Texas State Bobcats, 69-62, in a Sun Belt Conference matchup at College Park Center.

Reger Dowell tallied a game-high 23 points for the Mavericks (11-13, 6-6 Sun Belt), who have won back-to-back games. Lonnie McClanahan and Jamel Outler logged 13 and 12 points, respectively. McClanahan also had seven assists in the win.

Wes Davis netted 12 points for the Bobcats (7-17, 3-8), who have lost two in a row. Joel Wright followed with 11 points.

The Bobcats got off to a good start, shooting an even 50 percent in the first half. At the other end, the Mavericks struggled at just 30 percent and trailed, 33-25, at halftime.

In the latter half, the Bobcats dipped to 42.3 percent, while the Mavericks improved to 59.1 percent, including 7-of-10 from the perimeter, as they rallied for the win.

The Mavericks sank 23-of-31 at the free-throw line to help pad their offense in the come-from-behind effort.
