Recap: Western Ky vs. Texas-Arlington

Bowling Green, KY (SportsNetwork.com) - T.J. Price had 21 points and four assists as the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers pulled out a close 77-72 victory over the Texas-Arlington Mavericks in a Sun Belt Conference contest at E.A. Diddle Arena.

Chris Harrison-Docks added 17 points for the Hilltoppers (14-7, 6-2 Sun Belt), who extended their winning streak to four. George Fant chipped in 11 points while O'Karo Akamune dropped nine points and cleared nine rebounds before fouling out.

Lonnie McClanahan logged a career-high 28 points for the Mavericks (9-11, 4-4), who snapped a three-game winning streak. Brandon Edwards registered 19 points with seven rebounds while Reger Dowell had 12 points.

UTA shot 53.8 percent from the floor in the opening frame, including 6-of-11 from 3-point range, as it led 40-33 at halftime. WKU connected on 46.4 percent of its field goal attempts and turned the ball over 10 times in the period.

The Hilltoppers shot 43.5 percent from the field in the second period as they came back to win. A Price free-throw put WKU up 63-62 with 3:59 left. From that point they went on a 14-10 run to close out the contest.

WKU survived 16 turnovers as it claimed a 36-28 advantage on the glass and a 23-15 scoring margin at the free-throw line.
