Recap: ULM vs. Texas-Arlington

Monroe, LA (SportsNetwork.com) - Lonnie McClanahan notched 23 points as the Texas-Arlington Mavericks bested the ULM Warhawks, 85-74, in a Sun Belt Conference tilt at Fant-Ewing Coliseum.

Brandon Edwards netted 19 points for the Mavericks (10-13, 5-6 SBC), who ended a three-game slide. Reger Dowell and Jamel Outler contributed 17 and 10 points, respectively.

Tylor Ongwae tallied a game-high 24 points for the Warhawks (7-12, 4-7), who lost their third straight. Jayon James and Nick Coppola added 15 and 11 points, respectively.

The Mavericks shot 44.1 percent from the field in the first half of play to the Warhawks' 37.9 percent. The visitors led 39-33 at halftime.

The Warhawks improved to 46.4 percent from the floor in the second half, including 6-of-16 from the perimeter. The Mavericks kept pace, shooting 50 percent from the field and also knocking down 16-of-21 at the free-throw line, leading by as many as 14 points inside the final two minutes.

UTA dominated in the paint, where they outscored the hosts 40-28 and outrebounded the Warhawks, 40-29.
