Recap: Tulane vs. Rice

New Orleans, LA (SportsNetwork.com) - Jay Hook scored 17 points and grabbed seven rebounds as the Tulane Green Wave cruised to a 58-41 victory over the Rice Owls in Conference USA action at Devlin Fieldhouse.

Louis Dabney netted 12 points and snatched a team-high four steals for Tulane (10-9, 2-2 C-USA). Tre Drye pulled down 10 rebounds in the win. The Green Wave have won two of their last three games.

Sean Obi and Austin Ramljak each scored 12 points to lead Rice (5-12, 0-4). Obi added 12 rebounds for the double-double, and Ramljak grabbed four boards. The Owls have lost seven consecutive games.

Tulane shot just 33.3 percent from the floor in the first half, but still took a 28-14 lead into the half thanks to 19.2 percent shooting for Rice in the frame.

The Green Wave coasted in the second half behind 46.2 percent shooting, including 5-of-13 from 3-point range. The Owls connected on 40 percent of their field goal tries in the half, but it wasn't enough to salvage a comeback.

Tulane had the edge in bench points, 16-6, and in points off turnovers, 18-13.
