Recap: Western Ky vs. Troy

Bowling Green, KY ( - T.J. Price notched 22 points to lead the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers over the Troy Trojans, 81-76, in Sun Belt Conference play at E.A. Diddle Arena.

George Fant netted 16 points for the Hilltoppers (17-8, 9-3 Sun Belt), who have won seven of their last eight games. O'Karo Akamune added 10 points in the victory.

Hunter Williams tallied 22 points to lead the Trojans (8-15, 3-8), who have lost six of their last seven. Antoine Myers scored 15 points and had six assists. Kevin Thomas and Kelton Ford both contributed 13 points.

The Trojans struggled in the first half, where they shot just 30.4 percent from the field. At the other end, the Hilltoppers shot 44 percent and hit 10- of-12 at the free-throw line to take a 35-24 lead at halftime.

In the second half, the Trojans improved to shoot 48.6 percent from the floor, slightly better than their opponent's 44.8 percent. WKU, however, continued its strong free-throw shooting, hitting 18-of-20 to close out the game.

WKU outrebounded the visitors 42-31 and never surrendered the lead.
