Recap: Western Ky vs. ULM

Bowling Green, KY (SportsNetwork.com) - Trency Jackson scored a career-high 25 points as the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers easily defeated the ULM Warhawks, 72-63, in a Sun Belt Conference contest at E.A. Diddle Arena.

Chris Harrison-Docks had 15 points for the Hilltoppers (18-9, 10-4 Sun Belt), who have won two of their last three games. O'Karo Akamune and Daouda Soumaoro each cleared eight rebounds.

Tylor Ongwae finished with 15 points, while Jayon James posted 13 points and seven rebounds for the Warhawks (8-14, 5-9), who have lost two consecutive bouts.

WKU made 44.1 percent of its field goal attempts in the first half and went on an 18-1 run to open the game, eventually going into intermission with a 39-24 lead. ULM shot just 32 percent from the field in the opening stanza, including 2-of-7 from 3-point range.

Despite only shooting 33.3 percent from the field in the second frame, the Hilltoppers never led by less than seven points. WKU went 14-of-23 from the free-throw line to make up for its poor field goal shooting.

The Hilltoppers dominated the glass, as they outrebounded the Warhawks, 43-28.
