Recap: Texas-El Paso vs. Sacramento St

El Paso, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - McKenzie Moore tallied 14 points as the Texas-El Paso Miners cruised by the Sacramento State Hornets, 69-51, at the Don Haskins Center.

Moore shot a perfect 10-of-10 from the free-throw line for the Miners (5-4) and grabbed seven rebounds. John Bohannon logged 13 points and nine boards. Matt Willms added another 12 points.

Mikh McKinney notched 22 points for the Hornets (2-4) on 8-of-17 from the field but was the team's only player in double figures.

UTEP shot 40 percent from the field for the first half and 13-of-17 from the line. The Hornets struggled to keep pace, shooting 32 percent from the floor and just 1-of-2 at the line. At halftime, it was 34-21 in favor of the Miners.

The Miners led for the entire second half and by as many as 21 points, as they shot an improved 50 percent from the field to the Hornets' woeful 26.5 percent.

UTEP outrebounded its opponent, 45-30, and outscored Sacramento State 28-12 in the paint and 14-9 on second-chance points in the clear-cut win.
