Recap: Texas-El Paso vs. TX-San Antonio

El Paso, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Julian Washburn had 19 points as the Texas- El Paso Miners routed the Texas-San Antonio Roadrunners 81-62 in a Conference USA matchup at the Don Haskins Center.

Vince Hunter and C.J. Cooper each scored 15 points with Cooper coming up with three steals for the Miners (14-6, 4-1 C-USA), who won their fourth straight game. Cedrick Lang added 12 points while Matt Williams brought down eight rebounds.

Hyjii Thomas and Edrico McGregor each had 11 points with McGregor clearing six boards for the Roadrunners (6-12, 2-3), who lost their third straight decision. Keon Lewis chipped in 11 points and six assists.

UTEP made 53.6 percent of its field goal attempts in the first frame as it led 39-27 at the half. UTSA connected on 47.6 percent of its tries from the floor but attempted seven fewer shots.

The Miners had no problem in the second stanza, as they went on a 27-8 run which increased their lead to 31 with 7:10 left. UTEP made 57.7 percent of its shots from the field in the half.

UTEP was stronger on the boards as it held a 34-27 rebounding advantage over the Roadrunners.
