Recap: Western Ky vs. Murray State

Bowling Green, KY (SportsNetwork.com) - Chris Harrison-Docks led the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers with 16 points, on their way to a 71-64 victory over instate rival the Murray State Racers at E.A. Diddle Arena.

Harrison-Docks sank 7-of-8 from the free-throw line and 3-of-6 from 3-point range for the Hilltoppers (7-4). T.J. Price (15 points), Trency Jackson (14) and George Fant (14) also reached double figures.

T.J. Sapp and Jarvis Williams took care of most of the offense for the Racers (5-6), netting 25 and 24 points, respectively. None of their teammates were able to join them in double-digit scoring.

The Hilltoppers struggled to get into a rhythm offensively in the first half, shooting just 32.4 percent from the field, including only 2-of-12 from 3-point range. The Racers' 46.4 percent from the floor was enough to put them ahead by 14 points midway through the first half and 33-28 at halftime.

WKU mounted a comeback in the second half, where it shot an improved 48.4 percent from the field, with 10 more attempts than its opponent, which shot 52.4 percent. The Hilltoppers were also bolstered by a 9-of-12 performance from the line to the Racers' 6-of-10. WKU grabbed an 11-point lead with three minutes left, part of the 10th and final lead change of the contest.

WKU outrebounded Murray State, 39-30, and had an advantage on second-chance points, 17-9.
