Recap: Tulsa vs. UAB

Tulsa, OK (SportsNetwork.com) - Rod Rucker scored 21 points as the UAB Blazers defeated the Tulsa Golden Hurricane 70-63 in a Conference USA contest at the Reynolds Center.

Chad Frazier had 21 points while CJ Washington cleared 10 boards for the Blazers (13-6, 2-3 C-USA), who snapped a two game skid.

James Woodard finished with 12 points and eight rebounds for the Golden Hurricane (9-11, 4-2). Rashad Ray added 10 points while Tim Peete had four steals.

Tulsa made 43.3 percent of its first period field goal tries, including 4- of-10 from beyond the arc, as it held a slim 35-33 lead at the intermission. UAB made just 33.3 percent from the field but went 10-of-11 from the free- throw line to stay in the game.

With 9:27 left in the second half the Blazers were up just two but went on a 13-5 run to go up 10 and create some distance. UAB survived 10 second frame turnovers to get the win.

The Blazers dominated the glass as they outrebounded the Golden Hurricane 50-35.
