Recap: Northeastern vs. UAB

Boston, MA (SportsNetwork.com) - Chad Frazier scored 19 points as the UAB Blazers topped the Northeastern Huskies, 74-69, at Matthews Arena.

Frazier shot 7-of-16 from the field for the Blazers (7-2), including 3-of-6 from 3-point range. He also added six rebounds and five assists. Jordan Swing (14 points), Fahro Alihodzic (13) and Rod Rucker (12) padded the UAB offense.

Scott Eatherton notched a double-double with a game-high 21 points on 6-of-11 from the field and 10 rebounds for the Huskies (2-7). Demetrius Pollard and David Walker helped out with 16 and 12 points, respectively.

The Huskies shot only 33.3 percent from the field in the first half, compared to the Blazers' 36.1 percent, but made up for it at the line by shooting 7- of-11 and going up 31-30 at halftime. UAB did not make a single trip to the charity stripe in the opening half.

Both teams' shooting improved in the second half, but UAB was the more dominant, shooting an impressive 64 percent from the floor. The Huskies shot 44.8 percent from the field, keeping the game close until the final minute of play, in which they were outscored 5-1.

Despite surrendering 23 points off turnovers, the Blazers were able to hold on for the victory in a game where neither team led by more than eight points. UAB outscored its opponent in the paint, 34-24, and also outrebounded the Huskies, 45-29.
