Recap: Dayton vs. Central Mich

Dayton, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - Dyshawn Pierre and Devin Oliver both finished with 15 points to lead the Dayton Flyers over the Central Michigan Chippewas, 84-58, in a non-conference tilt at UD Arena.

Jalen Robinson added 12 points for the Flyers (8-2), while Jordan Sibert and Vee Sanford each chipped in with 10 as they won for the third time in the last four outings.

For the Chippewas (6-4), Chris Fowler led all scorers with 20 points and was also responsible for all five of his team's assists.

Dayton knocked down 50 percent of its field goal tries in the first half, including 3-of-10 from 3-point range. Central Michigan struggled from the field, making only 36.4 percent of its shots and missed all but one of its eight 3-point attempts. The Flyers jumped out to an 18-8 lead in the period as they claimed a 38-24 advantage at the break.

After intermission the Flyers continued to shoot the ball well, making 51.9 percent of their shots from the field and 4-of-9 from beyond the arc. The Chippewas improved to 41.2 percent from the field but continued to have difficulty hitting from deep, making only 2-of-14 on the perimeter. The Flyers pushed their lead to as many as 26 points in period as they cruised to victory, their eighth-straight at home dating back to last season.

Dayton dominated on the boards, outrebounding CMU 42-27. The Flyers also held a 16-2 advantage in fast break points.
