Recap: Morehead State vs. Belmont

Morehead, KY (SportsNetwork.com) - J.J. Mann scored 22 points as the Belmont Bruins rallied back for a 76-73 victory over the Morehead State Eagles in an Ohio Valley Conference tilt at Johnson Arena.

Reece Chamberlain added 14 points and four assists for Belmont (17-7, 8-1 OVC), which closed out the contest on a 10-0 run. Craig Bradshaw contributed 12 points to help the Bruins collect their fifth consecutive decision.

Drew Kelly tallied 23 points, five rebounds and three blocks for the Eagles (14-9, 5-3), who also received 14 points and eight boards courtesy of Billy Reader. Brent Arrington chipped in 11 points, seven boards and four assists while Luka Pajkovic netted 10 points.

MSU took a 35-29 lead into the intermission after it shot 46.4 percent from the field in the opening period. The Bruins fell behind after they were limited to 32 percent efficiency from the floor in the first half.

Belmont heated up to sink 60 percent of its field goal attempts in the second period. Although the Eagles connected on 48 percent of their shots from the floor after the break, they also missed seven of their 16 free-throw tries in the half. MSU went in front, 73-66, with 1:19 remaining after Angelo Warner made an attempt at the charity stripe. Mann scored five of Belmont's final 10 points to help the visitors take a three-point lead. Warner missed a 3-point try at the buzzer that would have sent the game into overtime.

The Bruins converted MSU's 17 turnovers into 27 points. The Eagles tallied only nine points off of Belmont's seven miscues.
