Recap: SIU Edwardsville vs. Belmont

Edwardsville, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - J.J. Mann scored a game-high 25 points, as the Belmont Bruins made easy work of the SIU Edwardsville Cougars, 94-75, in an Ohio Valley Conference showdown at the Vadalabene Center.

Evan Bradds had 20 points on 10-of-11 field goal shooting for the Bruins (22-8, 13-2 OVC), who extended their winning streak to five games. Reece Chamberlain netted 18 points and handed out nine assists and Nick Smith chipped in 11 points in 11 minutes off the bench.

Tim Johnson tallied 18 points for the Cougars (11-18, 7-8), who have lost three of their last four. Donivine Stewart added 17 points, while Keaton Jackson tallied 11 and seven boards and Rozell Nunn finished with 10 points.

Belmont connected on 54.1 percent of its field goal attempts in the first half, as it led 48-32 at the break. SIUE shot 43.3 percent from the floor while taking seven fewer shots than the Bruins.

In the second period, the Bruins drained a lofty 60 percent of their shots from the field. With 17:41 left in the frame, Belmont went on an 11-4 run to take a 17-point lead and never looked back from there.

Belmont dominated the glass, outrebounding the Cougars, 38-25.
