Recap: Eastern Ill vs. Cleveland State

Charleston, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - Bryn Forbes scored a game-high 25 points and recorded four steals as the Cleveland State Vikings cruised to an 82-68 victory over the Eastern Illinois Panthers in non-conference action at Lantz Arena.

Forbes connected on 8-of-15 shooting from the floor, including 4-of-8 from 3- point distance for Cleveland State (14-9). Trey Lewis contributed 17 points, nine rebounds and five assists, but also turned the ball over five times in the win. Anton Grady chipped in 10 points and eight rebounds for the Vikings, who have won four of their last five games.

Dylan Chatman scored 19 points and notched four steals for Eastern Illinois (7-14). Sherman Blanford added 16 points and six rebounds, while Chris Olivier netted 11 points with three blocked shots in the loss. The Panthers have lost two of their last three.

Cleveland State shot 53.3 percent from the floor in the first half, including 5-of-9 from 3-point range. The Vikings took a 41-37 lead into the break. Eastern Illinois hit 46.4 percent of its shots from the field in the frame.

The Vikings stayed productive in the second half, hitting 46.2 percent of their shots in the second period to the Panthers' 42.9 percent. Cleveland State had the edge from the free-throw line in the second half, 13-8.

The Vikings had the advantage in points in the paint, 26-12, and in rebounding, 34-26.
