Recap: St Marys-CA vs. Akron

Moraga, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Brad Waldow had 16 points, James Walker III scored 15 and the Saint Mary's Gaels posted an 85-63 win over the Akron Zips.

Stephen Holt was only 1-of-7 shooting but he sank all 12 of his free-throw attempts and dished out seven assists for the Gaels (2-0), who beat Louisiana Tech in their season opener last week. Jordan Giusti added 12 points and six steals for a Saint Mary's team that shot 66.7 percent in the second half.

Demetrius Treadwell paced the Zips (1-1) with 17 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. Isaiah Johnson was the only other Akron player to reach double figures in points, finishing with 13.

This game was part of the tip-off marathon.
