Recap: Cleveland State vs. Akron

Cleveland, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - Nick Harney scored 15 points off the bench as the Akron Zips rolled over the Cleveland State Vikings, 73-61, in a non- conference affair at the Wolstein Center.

Harney hit 6-of-10 shots from the floor or Akron (2-2), which also got 12 points apiece from Reggie McAdams and Nyles Evans. Demetrius Treadwell had just seven points on 3-of-10 shooting but did collect 10 rebounds.

Charlie Lee netted 14 points and Jon Harris added 12 for Cleveland State (4-5). Harris also brought down eight rebounds.

In the first half Evans scored all 12 of his points, knocking down 3-of-4 from beyond the arc. The Zips fed off that success, hitting 5-of-11 from 3-point range and shooting 44.8 percent overall to claim a 32-23 lead at the break. Cleveland State had only nine field goals in the frame.

The Zips continued to score easily in the second half, connecting on 52.2 percent from the floor and 6-of-11 from 3-point range. The Vikings improved to 48 percent shooting themselves, but it was far from enough.

Akron had twice as many assists as Cleveland State (16-8) and got 43 points off the bench. The Vikings had the edge on points in the paint, 32-26.
