Recap: Morehead State vs. Eastern Ky

Morehead, KY (SportsNetwork.com) - Corey Walden tallied 19 points and six steals as the Eastern Kentucky Colonels beat the Morehead State Eagles, 76-65, in an Ohio Valley Conference contest at Johnson Arena.

Glenn Cosey registered 18 points and five assists for the Colonels (11-6, 2-2 OVC), while Orlando Williams added 14 points.

Angelo Warner paced the Eagles (11-7, 2-1) with 17 points. Drew Kelly added 15 points and Brent Arrington had 11 and four assists. Chad Posthumus brought down 10 boards.

EKU connected on 40.9 percent of its field goal attempts and 12-of-13 from the free-throw line in the opening stanza, as it held a slim 35-33 lead at the half. The Eagles made 52 percent of their shots from the floor, including 3- of-5 from 3-point range.

Morehead State struggled in the second period of play by only making 31.3 percent of its field goal tries. EKU connected on 46.9 of its shots from the floor and had 16 more attempts than the Eagles.

The Eagles had 20 turnovers in the game, which turned into 19 EKU points.
