Recap: Eastern Ky vs. Jacksonville St

Richmond, KY (SportsNetwork.com) - Eric Stutz tallied 20 points and nine rebounds as the Eastern Kentucky Colonels earned a 60-56 victory over the Jacksonville State Gamecocks in Ohio Valley Conference action at McBrayer Arena.

Glenn Cosey added 17 points and Tarius Johnson chipped in 12 for Eastern Kentucky (13-6, 4-2 OVC).

Brian Williams dropped in 16 points and Darion Rackley contributed 12 for Jacksonville State (9-13, 3-4).

The Colonels shot just 27.3 percent from the floor in the first half, but hit 9-of-11 from the free-throw line and kept the Gamecocks to eight field goals. The teams were tied 23-23 at the break.

In the second half Eastern Kentucky shot an even 50 percent from the floor and knocked down 18-of-20 from the free-throw line to escape with the victory.

Jacksonville State lost despite scoring advantages in the paint (26-18) and off of turnovers (14-9).
