Recap: Akron vs. Bowling Green

Akron, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - Demetrius Treadwell scored 17 points and came a rebound shy of a double-double as the Akron Zips beat the Bowling Green Falcons, 57-47, in a Mid-American Conference game at James A. Rhodes Arena.

Quincy Diggs added 13 points for Akron (18-11, 10-6 MAC), which ended a three- game losing streak.

Richaun Holmes tallied 14 points and nine rebounds for Bowling Green (12-17, 6-10), which has lost three of its last four. Spencer Parker chipped in 12 points and Cameron Black had 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Neither team was very efficient in the first half. The Zips shot 26.7 percent from the floor, including a 4-of-9 effort from 3-point range, and led, 20-18, at the break. The Falcons had only seven field goals in the opening period.

Akron improved to 53.6 percent from the floor in the final 20 minutes as it pulled away for the win.

Bowling Green had the better game on the boards (39-35), but was outscored, 22-10, off of turnovers.
