Muncie, IN (SportsNetwork.com) - Chris Bond set a new career-high with 20 points to lead the Ball State Cardinals past the Southeast Missouri State Redhawks to an 87-83 decision in a non-conference battle at Worthen Arena.

Turner also handed out five assists while Majok Majok registered a double-double for the second consecutive game with 11 points and 12 boards. Franko House pulled down 11 rebounds and Quinten Payne dealt out five assists in 16 minutes off the bench.

Southeast Missouri State (2-2) had its two-game winning streak snapped despite a strong effort from Jarekious Bradley, who tallied 26 points and came up just one rebound shy of a double-double. Tyler Stone contributed 24 points and seven rebounds, Nino Johnson scored 12 points and Lucas Nutt finished with eight assists.

The Redhawks shot 39.3 percent from the floor and limited Ball State to makes on only 35.1 percent of its field goal attempts in the opening 20 minutes of the contest. The Cardinals sank 5-of-14 3-point field goal attempts and also converted 9-of-13 at the free-throw line to take a 40-35 lead into the intermission.

Ball State heated up to connect on 58.3 percent of its shots from the floor in the second stanza while the visitors kept pace by draining 13-of-16 attempts at the charity stripe. SEMO made its final field goal try as time expired to narrow the deficit to four points as the buzzer sounded.

The Cardinals' bench played a huge role in the victory as they outscored the Redhawks' reserves, 29-18. Majok and House's 23 combined rebounds off the bench helped Ball State finish with a 46-35 advantage on the boards.
