Recap: Fordham vs. George Mason

Bronx, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Branden Frazier led the way with a game-high 22 points, as the Fordham Rams downed the George Mason Patriots, 76-70, in an Atlantic 10 Conference battle at Rose Hill Gym.

Frazier shot 8-of-14 from the field for the Rams (8-10, 1-4 A-10), while Jon Severe added 21 points.

Sherrod Wright finished with 21 points to lead the Patriots (7-12, 0-5), while Byron Allen scored 13, Erik Copes chipped in with 10 and Jalen Jenkins pulled down 11 rebounds.

GMU shot 48 percent in the first half, including 4-of-10 from 3-point range, as the Patriots took a 31-30 advantage into halftime. Fordham hit on 42.3 percent from the field in the half and 3-of-7 from beyond the arc.

In the second half, the Rams had the hot hand, making 56 percent of their field goal tries. The Rams also outscored the Patriots from the free-throw line in the half, 15-5. The Patriots made 45.7 percent of their shots from the field but just 2-of-7 from beyond the arc. After trailing by as many as 10 early in the half, the Rams countered and took the lead for good with just over four minutes to play and held on to win for the first time in league play.

GMU had the edge on the boards, 37-31. Fordham scored 19 points off of 13 GMU turnovers, while committing just eight miscues itself.
