Recap: Fordham vs. VA Commonwealth

New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Juvonte Reddic scored 22 points and brought in 12 rebounds to lift the Virginia Commonwealth Rams to an 85-66 victory over the Fordham Rams in an Atlantic 10 duel at Rose Hill Gym.

Rob Brandenberg added 16 points and Melvin Johnson chipped in 14 for VCU (21-7, 9-4 A-10), which ended a three-game losing streak.

Jon Severe and Mandell Thomas each had 14 points for Fordham (9-17, 2-11), which also got 10 points from Branden Frazier. Fordham has lost five straight.

VCU clung to a 34-32 lead at halftime. The visiting Rams connected on only 34.5 percent from the floor in the first half, compared to 42.9 percent from their hosts. However, VCU had a 13-7 scoring edge at the free-throw line.

VCU heated up in the second half, sinking 9-of-15 from beyond the arc as part of a 48.7 percent overall shooting effort. Fordham knocked down only 33.3 percent in the frame.

The visitors had sizable scoring advantages from beyond the arc (30-15) and in second chance points (24-10).
