Recap: Morehead State vs. Bowling Green

Morehead, KY (SportsNetwork.com) - Richaun Holmes scored 17 points and blocked seven shots as the Bowling Green Falcons outlasted the Morehead State Eagles, 67-61, in non-conference action at Ellis Johnson Arena.

All five starters scored in double figures for BGSU (5-5), which has won back- to-back games. Jehvon Clarke and Spencer Parker scored 12 points apiece, while Cameron Black and Anthony Henderson each netted 11. Black also pitched in 12 rebounds and five blocks.

For Morehead State (7-5), Brent Arrington tallied 16 points, Angelo Warner poured in 15 points and Billy Reader logged 11 points and nine boards.

Even though BGSU outshot Morehead State from the field in the first half, 46.2 percent to 35.1 percent, the Eagles carried a 38-34 lead into intermission by shooting 3-of-11 from 3-point range and 9-of-12 from the foul line.

The Falcons improved their field goal percentage to .524 after halftime. They snapped a 49-49 tie with under nine minutes left on a three-point play by Holmes and never surrendered the advantage for the rest of the game.

BGSU held on to win despite losing both the turnover (21-17) and the rebounding (47-34) battles.
