Recap: St Marys-CA vs. Murray State

Moraga, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Brad Waldow tallied 18 points and five assists to lead the Saint Mary's Gaels to an easy 89-64 triumph over the Murray State Racers at McKeon Pavilion as part of the Shamrock Office Solutions Classic.

Waldow shot 8-of-9 from the field as St. Mary's (6-0) remained unbeaten. Stephen Holt and James Walker III both scored 16 points, with Holt also handing out seven assists. Kerry Carter came off the bench to net 10 points for the hosts.

For Murray State (2-5), Jarvis Williams led the way with 16 points and nine rebounds. Jeffery Moss put up 14 points, while Cameron Payne and Jonathan Fairell poured in 13 and 10 points, respectively.

Saint Mary's held a commanding 49-27 lead at the half behind 51.6 percent field-goal shooting in the opening stanza. Murray State, which shot a modest 41.7 percent from the floor, was outscored from 3-point range (18-9) and at the foul line (11-4).

The Gaels' field-goal shooting actually improved after intermission (.560), as their lead never dipped below 22.

Saint Mary's was on fire from 3-point range (13-of-27) and committed just nine turnovers on the night.
